- H. J. RES. 46: Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to deny United States citizenship to individuals born in the United States to parents who are neither United States citizens nor persons who owe permanent allegiance to the United States. While I think it’s a reasonable to amend the 14th Amendment in this way… I don’t see this being ratified. What exactly does ‘owes permanent allegiance to the United States’ mean?
- S. 720: To amend title 4, United States Code, to authorize the Governor of a State, territory, or possession of the United States to order that the National flag be flown at half-staff in that State, territory, or possession in the event of the death of a member of the Armed Forces from that State, territory, or possession who dies while serving on active duty. I must be missing something. Shouldn’t this be a state issue? Can they not do whatever they like with their flags/flagpoles?
- H. R. 2667: To provide for the establishment of a disabled farmers’ market nutrition pilot program. Provide disabled persons with vouchers to purchase locally grown fruits, vegetables and herbs. How would they be able to enforce that? Sounds like another bill attempting to buy the disabled and farmers votes.
- H.R. 2610: To amend subchapter IV of chapter 53 of title 31, United States Code, and section 1084 of title 18 of such Code to clarify the applicability of such provisions to games of skill, and establish certain requirements with respect to such games, and for other purposes. I hope they just repeal the whole online gambling ban. It’s a wonderful way to get more tax money from the public.
- H.R. 2605: Sunset of Public Law 107-243 Act of 2007. To establish a sunset for the Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of 2002 (Public Law 107-243). Another half hearted and half assed attempt to bring the war in Iraq to an end.
