jon jonson writes “Information from the collapsed Icelandic bank Kaupthing has been leaked to WikiLeaks, revealing billions in insider loans, and the bank has been working day and night to censor the information contained in the document. Last night at 6:55pm GMT, they served an injunction against the Icelandic National Broadcasting Service, five minutes before the 7pm news was due to be aired. The TV station just displayed the WikiLeaks URL instead. They’ve also injuncted Iceland’s national radio, banning all discussion about the contents of the document, and they are actively trying to censor the rest of the Icelandic media along with WikiLeaks.”

Nothing to see here. Move along. Ignore the men behind the curtains.

While Kane is revered for a combination of size, strength and agility that has allowed him to dominate WWE rings for the past decade, his in-ring strategy is often overlooked. But a brilliant plan is exactly what the Big Red Machine used to defeat Chavo Guerrero and walk out of WrestleMania XXIV as the new ECW Champion.

Glenn is a Free State Project member, a libertarian, blogger, the podcaster Citizen X (LibertyRadioUnderground, Tiny Political Show), Ron Paul supporter, and all around nice guy. xyz and myself met him up in Nashua, New Hampshire at the 2008 FSP Liberty Forum. We apparently missed a FTL party he attended which would have been nice to further talk with him and find out what he’s been up to in the liberty movement besides the obvious. Perhaps he will be at PorcFest.

In any case, nice to hear he’s doing well over at the WWE. I wonder how they decide who’s going to win something like that or if it’s ad lib. Seems to me scripting a royal rumble would be really difficult.

Fed looks to socialists for more ideas to centralize the US economy

The US Federal Reserve is examining the Nordic bank nationalisations of the 1990s as a possible interim solution to the US financial crisis.

The Fed has been criticised for its rescue of Bear Stearns, which critics say has degenerated into a taxpayer gift to rich bankers.

A senior official at one of the Scandinavian central banks told The Daily Telegraph that Fed strategists had stepped up contacts to learn how Norway, Sweden and Finland managed their traumatic crisis from 1991 to 1993, which brought the region’s economy to its knees.

It is understood that Fed vice-chairman Don Kohn remains very concerned by the depth of the US crisis and is eyeing the Nordic approach for contingency options.

Scandinavia’s bank rescue proved successful and is now a model for central bankers, unlike Japan’s drawn-out response, where ailing banks were propped up in a half-public limbo for years.

I’m not able to find the clip he used but Gardner Goldsmith on his radio show yesterday but not only did the administration admit it and the Fed is looking into how the Nordic banking nationalization went it admitted to planning to open the floodgates on the money supply as long ago as last spring.

Ron Paul was on the Glenn Beck show tonight (see below) and Beck was in a daze of sorts. If you noticed, this morning some fairly bad news came out about UBS and some other banks. An additional $19b writedown for UBS and their director stepped down. Auto sales dropped. Oil was at new highs. Metals are all down. Etc. And yet the Dow was up almost 400 points. 3.19%. Nasdaq and the S&P 500 even more. And that’s after this news about the Nordic nationalization. Beck says he was never a conspiracy theorist, thought the John Birch Society people were crazy, but as he reads about the Fed, about the 1907 crash, he’s getting very uncomfortable with what finds in the past and the continuation of it in the present. Beck is hardly a real libertarian or gold bug but it’s really great to see someone on in the MSM helping get this info out there.

On the CNN debate

It was really pathetic. Paul and Huckabee were completely marginalized. Cooper was a complete jackass to Paul, cutting him off at least thrice and lying that he would give Paul and Huckabee more time. You could see both men getting frustrated as they were continuously ignored and cut off. Paul got only one direct question and had less than 8 minutes of total speaking time. McCain looked like a pompus ass and I’ve been reading a lot of stuff online criticizing him on his behavior. He also incorrectly corrected Paul on Eisenhower running to get us out of Korea. I would have liked to see Paul give a better answer to the “Would Reagan endorse you?” question. It started good but the gold standard comment should have been thrown in earlier or bridged into more examples where Reagan and him agreed and he was endorsed prior.

This second video is only available online… so much for getting the message out because of demand.
