George Donnelly Trial Postponed to September 1, 2010, at 2:00 pm

FIJA Demonstration in Baltimore, MD on August 23, 2010

I arrived at the U. S. District Courthouse at 101 W. Lombard Street, in Baltimore, MD at 11:50 am. It was a hot and sunny day. I stood on federal property about one foot away from the public sidewalk and started distributing the American Jury Institute Pamphlet entitled “A Primer for Prospective Jurors” with my insert.

At 12:00 pm a police woman approached me and told me that I was OK where I was, but not to go to the courthouse door. She also asked if I planned further dates for distribution. I answered that we had no specific plans, but that we probably would return at a future date.

At 12:10 pm another police woman approached and took a pamphlet. Both women were private police under contract with the U. S. District Court.

At 12:17 pm the second woman returned and asked how long I had been doing this. I responded about one year. She asked for my name, but I refused to provide it. I asked for her name, but she also refused to provide it.

At 12:28 pm, the first police woman returned, accepted a pamphlet, and left.

Pedestrian traffic was light. I distributed about 25 pamphlets with my insert. At 1:10 pm I left for the day because of the low pedestrian traffic, it was very hot, I forgot my sunscreen, and my JURY INFO sign handle had broken. Excuses, excuses, excuses.

FIJA Demonstration in Alexandria, VA on August 24, 2010

I arrived at the U. S. District Courthouse at 401 Courthouse Square in Alexandria, VA at 7:59 am. It was a chilly and overcast day. The courthouse is set in a court, so that there is almost no pedestrian traffic except for people entering or leaving the courthouse. I stood on the sidewalk, which was federal property, in front of the entrance.

At 8:01 am a courthouse security officer told me that I had to move across the street. I declined his request. I asked his name, but he refused to give it to me. He left.
At 8:08 am another security officer took a pamphlet and read my flyer in my presence. Then he left. I was not approached by any officer for the rest of my stay.

I continued to distribute pamphlets with flyers unmolested. At 9:20 am a person exited the courthouse, identified himself as a defense attorney, and said: “good stuff.”

At 9:30 am I left. I had distributed about 50 flyers. Everyone who accepted entered the courthouse.

1. FIJA demonstration of 8–4-10

I arrived at the U. S. District Courthouse in Manhattan at 11:30 am. It was a warm and sunny day. At the outskirts of federal property I met Adam Mueller and Peter Eyre from Liberty on Tour. Also there were bile and Darren Wolfe. All four were there to videotape the proceedings.

After some preliminary discussion we moved to the courtyard of the District Courthouse at 11:45 am. I distributed the American Jury Institute pamphlet “True or False: Factual Information about Jury Service” along with my flyer. Peter Eyre (correction: Adam Mueller) also distributed some of these. Officers Sargent Sullivan and another Federal Service Marshall were there when we arrived. Altogether we distributed about 35 pamphlets.

At 12:06 pm, there were 3 police officers present. At 12:15 pm Sargeant Sullivan and officer Valentin approached me and asked me to move off federal property. I refused. Each of them grabbed one of my arms and took my Jury Info sign and remaining pamphlets. I was not placed under arrest nor given a citation. It was an undisguised assault and robbery. I fell to the ground. I lay still, did not move a muscle, nor utter a sound. None of the other of my four accomplices were forced off the property, and none were given citations. One police officer encouraged Darren to start rolling his camera when the action was about to start.

Sorry the footage is sideways. I was holding my cell vertical so as to hold it better in my left hand while recording with a camcorder in my right. There is lots of footage of this.

FIJA REPORTS 7/27–30/2010

1. FIJA Demonstration of 7/27/10 in Trenton, NJ

It was very hot and sunny day.  I appeared at the U. S. District Courthouse in Trenton, NJ at 11:43 am.  It was so hot that at 12:25, I moved under a tree to distribute the literature.

Two Federal Protective Service police cars and three officers were waiting for my arrival.  One looked at his watch and said that I was early.  He then approached me and said that I could pass out literature as long as I did not block the doorways.  I assured him that I would not.

I started to pass out the American Jury Institute pamphlet entitled “ A Primer  for Prospective Jurors” along with my flyer.  A second police officer approached me and asked for a pamphlet for his report.  I complied.  Soon thereafter the third officer approached me and asked for a pamphlet, which I gave him.

I was not bothered by the police for the rest of my visit, though they and the two police cars remained and were still there when I left at 1:05 pm.  This reception was very much more hospitable than at our previous demonstration at the Trenton courthouse.

There was not much pedestrian traffic, but I passed out about 35 pamphlets.  I encountered interest by a large portion of the people that did pass by.  I also met and discussed legal matters with another pro se litigant who has had similar encounters to mine with the police and the courts.

PROGRESS REPORT 7/26/10

1. Purpose of this memo

Here are my thoughts on the state of the nation and possible future plans for our movement. I am requesting your input on these ideas. Please let me know your thoughts.

2. Government failure

We have a huge prison population, huge debt, huge unemployment, unsuccessful lengthy wars, and bad foreign policy.

We are the number one prison state in the world. With less than 5% of the world’s population, we have 25% of the world’s prisoners. We are filling our prisons with people who own plants, vegetables, and flowers. Our prisons are hellholes.

We are in an economic collapse. The government gave over $1 trillion to the people responsible for the collapse. The government continues to pass legislation that cannot be financed. Our national debt is $13 trillion (about 90% of GDP and growing). The unemployment rate is at 9%.

Our government failed to cope with the environmental disasters caused by hurricane Katrina in New Orleans and the Gulf of Mexico oil spill by British Petroleum.

We are engaged in two lengthy and costly wars. We are sending our young adults to Iraq and Afghanistan to be killed, thus saving Osama Bin Laden the inconvenience of having to come to the U. S. for the killing. Our troops are demoralized because we are not supporting them sufficiently. In Iraq there have been more military deaths from suicide than from military action.

Our foreign policy is insane. We are catering to our enemies (Iran in particular) and alienating our allies. Israel is our staunchest and most reliable ally.

It is the frontline defense against Islamic expansion into Europe. However the Obama administration is going out of its way to alienate the Israelis. Turkey is a member of NATO and was the only Islamic country on good terms with Israel. It has now turned away from us and is siding with the other Islamic countries against us. It was responsible for the attempt to break Israel’s blockade of Gaza. North Korea and Iran snub their noses at us.
