2010-06-06 Julian Heicklen update
On Friday it was noticed that Julian Heicklen’s NYC DOC page had been updated. The June 8th, 2010 court date was removed and a new charge was listed. The new charge however appears to be a place holder or have some other special meaning which has yet to be determined.

Saturday I left a message with Julian’s wife asking if she had talked with him and had any clue as to the reasons for the changes. Sunday morning she called me back.
On Friday morning at approximately 6AM Julian was unexpectedly taken to meet a psychiatrist . They didn’t actually arrive until 1PM. After the interview they took him back to Riker’s Island. His wife indicated Julian was not informed as to why he was taken to speak with the psychiatrist.
As for the potentially changed court date Julian and Susan have not heard anything. As far as Julian knows he still has an arraignment on 2010-06-08.
Regarding the arraignment I was given more information about what happened after Julian’s arrest on May 25th, 2010.
After being taken inside the US District Court at 500 Pearl Street he was eventually brought to Bellevue Hospital for a psychiatric exam likely due to his continued silence. After speaking with his wife on Wednesday the 26th, 2010 he was released and placed back into the custody of the NYPD. He was then taken for an arraignment in which he “decided it was time to apply his 5th Amendment rights.” He refused to even explain why he was not talking possibly leading to further questioning of his mental health. It was that arraignment was then postponed until June 8th, 2010.
Julian believes that the arraignment won’t be till the afternoon given how long it took them to get him to the psychiatrist. He believes it will be at the Manhattan Criminal Courthouse which is located at:

Joseph McNicholl, who visited Julian on June 3rd, has indicated he will attempt to attend the arraignment. If more concrete information regarding where and when his arraignment is held I will try to appear also.
