Note: the timestamp is off. The arrest occurred around 12:10pm.
CFR Title 41, Subsection C, § 102-74.420 states that photography of building entrances is allowed for news purposes without permission. While not the main focus of the video the backdrop of the entirety of the video is that of the street and 500 Pearl St courthouse entrance.
The primary footage was taken as evidence to my supposed violation of CFR Title 41, Subsection C, § 102-74.420

Update: Interview with Julian Heicklen after first contact but before arrest.

“Now I have to take you into jail, and we have to hold you until we can identify you. That’s alright. It’ll just take a couple days.”
There’s so much I want to say about that statement yet all I can get out is, “ugh”.

Sounds like a great reason not to carry ID.
November 10th, 2009 at 2:19 pm
That’s pretty ridiculous.
November 10th, 2009 at 3:10 pm
Is it actually illegal to not carry ID on federal Property?
Can a judge legally order destruction of evidence?
The cop lies Over and Over, can you file some kind of complaint?

@Xaq Fixx
Likely somehow. I’d need evidence though I’d think and going through the law to find whether these things are true would be painful.

well done sir. I’m going to have to get one of these spy cameras. Amazing the things they will say when they think nobody will here it. What happens when the government people nationalize everything and every square inch of earth is “federal property”?

There won’t be any trial. There’s no way they can present FIJA as evidence at a jury trial. And, if it catches the attention of the media it will defeat the entire purpose of trying to prevent such outreach.

[...] I just got back from being a witness to libertarian activist Julian Heicklen’s attempt to reach out to federal jurors. At around 11:45AM today (2010-04-12) Mr. Heicklen stood in the public plaza of 500 Pearl St. in Manhattan, NY with a sign that read “JURY INFO” and started passing out information regarding jury nullification. It ended as it normally does with a handful of Department of Homeland Security officers instructing him to leave and finally issuing a citation. At which time Julian fell flat to the ground. His sign and papers were taken by Officer C. Barnes #245 who has been the arresting officer each time I’ve observed and was the officer who arrested me for filming Julian’s arrest on November, 9th 2009. [...]
