I wonder if this would have received as much press if it wasn’t a little white girl killed by two black guys.

In the MSM? Maybe not. Depends on what you substitute. If it was a middle aged gang banger who was killed by just about anyone no one really would have cared except anti drug war people. Likely any young person or someone who was picked up just for pot I think would have still been a relatively large story.

Do gang bangers live to see middle age? Also I’d like to point out that she was pinched for approximately $100 worth of pot. It’s pretty screwed up that people who use marijuana live with the threat of someone around them dropping a dime and turning their life upside down. Once again, the most dangerous thing about marijuana is the police encounters and punitive sentences that result from having it.

Middle aged for that profession then.
We agree. Speaking of which: Legislators aim to snuff out penalties for pot use

It’s strange to hear Barney Frank talk some sense on this issue when he’s in love with the Fed regarding the housing “bubble”. While not completely on the side liberty, it is slightly less evil to have “our leaders” move to a more lenient definition on what constitutes as drug abuse.

Here is a link to the GovTrack entry for the bill. It’s short. So if the federal government removes criminal penalties for possession and private use of small amounts of cannabis what do you think the states will do?

I just watched “AKA Tommy Chong”, an outstanding drug war film.
