Third Party Watch talks shit on Burning Porc’s LP mock funeral
Posted on July 24th, 2008 by bile Tags: Bob Barr, Burning Porcupine, Free State Project, FSP, funeral, Libertarian Party, New Hampshire, Third Party WatchSome of the losers in the Libertarian Party—those who didn’t want Bob Barr to get the nomination—just aren’t moving on. Here, a bunch of them in New Hampshire hold a mock funeral for Barr and the LP. If you have as much beer and perhaps other stuff as they apparently had, it might qualify as amateurish dark humor—call it the Barr Witch Project. Especially when “Bob Barr” loses his head, and a dog takes interest. Ohmigosh, is he really going to carry it off into the woods?!
Obviously being bought by a conservative, Bob Barr supporter hasn’t tainted the site. Take a look at the comments too. These people don’t have a clue of what the FSP members have accomplished. These party loyalists and second class politicos can keep their party. While they hang out at their debate club and waste time with Robert’s rules of order the rest of us will be trying to make real gains in the fight for freedom.

Oh my, in fighting. What is this other stuff of which they speak? As a member of the women’s christian temperance movement I find the idea of sitting in the woods drinking alcohol to be an abomination against the baby jesus.
I do however like your comment on third party watch about how they have to find something to do for the week.

In fighting? What’s the “in.” The liberty movement? These guys aren’t in the liberty movement. They are wanna be politicos. They are in the smaller government, “can you whip me less master”, movement.
Besides… this is nothing. The FSP gets shit from people all the time for what appears to be silly reasons. Whether they are jealous of the early success and/or the slow drainage of activists from other parts of the nation… they like to call FTL occasionally and complain. And then you’ve got the whole Cato/Reason/beltway vs Rothbard/Mises. That one is far nastier.

The FSP catches shit because they got together, gave themselves a name, and established a core set of beliefs. That’s why politicians never do that. It’s much harder to hit a moving target. I find it interesting just how many different types of people the FSP manages to encompass.

A core set of beliefs? Not really. They are freedom activists. That’s pretty much it. That’s why they have so many types of people.
