Huckabee drops out

Mike Huckabee quit the presidential race after it became clear that McCain would win the Republican nomination, after winning Tuesday’s GOP primaries.
“It’s now important that we turn our attention not to what could have been or what we wanted to have been, but now what must be — and that is a united party,” Huckabee told supporters in Dallas, Texas, after losing Tuesday’s primary in Texas and three other states.
Huckabee, a former Baptist pastor, thanked volunteers for “keeping the faith” and told them, “I’d rather lose an election than lose the principles that got me into politics in the first place.”
Well it’s unfortunate that McCain has more or less gotten the necessary delegates to win the nomination but now it’s down to McCain and Paul and there is always a chance McCain will choke on a carrot.

I heard McCain is a Panamanian terrorist, so perhaps Paul has a chance.

If McCain chokes on a carrot (this has some creepy sexual undertones, bile), I would bet the farm that Mitt Romney will "un-suspend" his campaign. I’m not sure what the rules are, but there’s a snowball’s chance that the GOP establishment would default to a Paul nomination.

Absolutely. I’m not claiming they’d just give Paul the nod just that obviously it’d be more likely if McCain kicked the bucket. As for Romney… his son even said that if anything were to happen to McCain his father would likely get back in. I don’t doubt that at all but even if he did he wouldn’t have any dedicated delegates. When he dropped he lost them all.
