And this morning on Morning Joe where Shuster was filling in for Joe Scarborough this happened:
What a pompous group. I think bosco put it well… they “might as well have a bucket over [their] head[s] and shout “I CAN’T HEAR YOU” while interviewing people.” They scoff at reading anything which disagrees with their preexisting notions of truth. They say history is written by the winners… well the Hamiltonians, Lincoln supporters, Wilsonianists, FDRs won. Perhaps people should read that which is written by the losers more often.

I’m not a historian, yet I didn’t find his recollection of the civil war ‘crackpot’ or far fetched. It may not be what the kids get in high school history-lite class, but these ideas were certainly talked about in college. I think Paul missed an opportunity to prove his point when the discussion came around to Bush. He could have drawn a line between the Hamiltonians, Wilsonianists, FDR, etc. and the Patriot Act, war in Iraq, Credit Crunch, No Child Left behind, etc. He mildly alluded to it by saying that a lot problems today were caused by Wilson, but that isn’t direct enough for these knobs. (Though I think the female host sympathized with him somewhat, but she didn’t really speak up in his defense.) I loved how they tried to pounce on him about the National Intelligence Report. Hello guys, that report wasn’t written by the neo-conservatives and I’d imagine Cheney scoffed at it anyway. Poor debate technique.
As far the conduct of Shuster (who?) and his side kick (double who?), if I were running a news show I would have a strict policy of treating all of the candidates, let alone guests on my show, with respect. Now Paul is getting criticized about his facist Huckabee comments. Not like we didn’t see other news pundits making the same observation about his campaign and that conspicuously placed window pane cross.
Final note - you need a "media douche" or "crackpot pundit" tag for these posts.
