Random bill roundup

Posted on July 31st, 2007 by bile Categories and Tags: Uncategorized, drugs, federal government, healthcare, Iraq, medicare, nanny state, politics, random bill roundup, Republic of Korea, Ron Paul, South Korea, taxes, United States, war, your money, your rights
  • H.R.3216: Marque and Reprisal Act of 2007. To authorize the President to issue letters of marque and reprisal with respect to certain acts of air piracy upon the United States on September 11, 2001, and other similar acts of war planned for the future. Ron Paul again tries to give the President the Constitutionally sanctioned method for dealing with bin Ladin. It unfortunately will fail to pass.
  • S.1846: To improve defense cooperation between the Republic of Korea and the United States. They don’t outright hate us and have bought almost $7 billion worth of ‘defense articles and services’ in the past 10 years. I’m betting it’s primarily the second reason this bill is being passed.
  • H.R.3129: To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to allow taxpayers to designate income tax overpayments as contributions to the Federal Government on their income tax returns. HAHAHAHA. HAHA. I had really thought you could do this anyway. I guess not. Whatever… now these statist socialists can voluntarily support the wealth distribution they so love. This should pass… I see no reason it shouldn’t and then they can make income taxes completely voluntary. You can pay for exactly the ’services’ you wish to get from the government.
  • H.R.3190: Opt Out of Iraq War Act of 2007. To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to allow individuals to designate that their income, estate, or gift tax payments be spent other than for purposes of supporting the war in Iraq and to provide that amounts so designated shall be used to provide funding for Head Start, to reduce the national debt, and to provide college funding for children of Iraq war veterans. Again… a start but why not go all the way? How about I take my share and keep it instead? You take the responsibility for the war, you keep your Social Security Insurance, your Medicare, your government education. I’ll worry about myself.
  • H.R.3186: Meth Mouth Prevention and Community Recovery Act. Perhaps not… but it would seem to me that those who take meth probably know of ‘meth mouth’ and care little about it. We don’t need the federal government wasting our taxes on this crap. Let the public ostracize those who use these drugs.
