N.Y. Game bill to make selling some games to minors a felony
If you sell or rent a game which includes ‘depraved violence and indecent images’ to a minor you would be guilty of a class E felony in New York state. Other class E felonies: bigamy, incest, abandonment of a child, possessing a sexual performance by a child, riot in the first degree, criminal anarchy, aggravated harassment in the first degree. Max sentence of 4 years. Funny that this law is only for home game consoles. Not handhelds or regular PCs. This is just sad. These types of laws have been struck down in several states. Why should this one be different? Why not other arts? They gonna make selling Shakespeare to kids a felony? Can’t they be doing something more useful with my tax money like banning people from walking across the street with headphones? :-/
